Angels Landing, Zion National Park

Angels Landing is the most popular hike in Zion. And for a good reason. It would be tough to find a 5 mile hike with a bigger payoff for the effort.

This is a challenging hike, but still doable for someone of average fitness level. The steep switchbacks make the ascent quick. There are chains bolted to the rocks to assist in the final stretch of the hike.

The narrow last half-mile section has would not be recommended for those with a fear of heights. The trail can be enjoyed just as much by stopping at Scout Lookout, right before the chain-assisted section of the trail.

While winter hiking has its' unique challenges (hello 25° morning!), we were grateful for the lack of crowds.
